All of our staff and tutors have a wealth of industry experience, with each member of the team bringing something unique to the table. From specialists in beauty makeup, wigs, SFX and period hair and makeup to those on hand to give you business advice to help you launch your makeup career, we offer the best all-round media training in the region.
Founded in 2008, AR has stayed true to its ethics in real training at the highest standards.
Our tutors have worked across tv and film over a combined total of more than 50 years – they have the experience to develop students and the knowledge to prepare them for industry.
We know how important it is to have continuity throughout your course, so you will have a core team of qualified tutors teaching your course. But media is a fast-changing industry, so AR brings in Working Industry-Specialists to provide you with added insight into their work, helping you to build your contacts and get a foot in the door.
Suzie Potts
Suzie founded the school in 2008, as an already well established Celebrity Makeup artist, Suzie decided on a new career challenge and has dedicated her time to becoming a nurturing tutor with very high standards and an industry recognised trainer/assessor. As a consultant for governing body VTCT – acting as a technical advisor to develop new courses for students internationally, an international trainer for World Skills and leading a team of judges for national UK Skills competitions.
Having worked across film, tv and fashion for more than 25 years, Suzie is a respected makeup artist known for the highest standards of work and training needed to ensure students are equipped with the right skills and mindset to make it in the highly competitive world of makeup.
Tori Robinson
Currently Designing Platform 7, Tori has worked in the film and television industry as a Hair and Make-up Artist/Designer for almost 20 years. Working in high end T.V and Film her credits range from BAFTA nominated period dramas to RTS Award winning contemporary programs.
These include Spooks, The Mark of Cain, Scott and Bailey, League of Gentlemen and more recently The Syndicate 4 to Victoria, Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell and Dracula, for which she has been Emmy nominated by Netflix.
Jo Sweeting
Jo Sweeting is a well established make up artist and designer who has collaborated with artists in film, theatre and TV for many years. Currently working on Afterlife with Ricky Gervais for Net Flix. A professional in both hair and make up, wigs and facial hair, Jo’s specialisms see her working across all genres and periods.
Jo has worked with some of the best in the industry. As an artist working on Black Mirror, Afterlife and Bancroft, she has counted David Tenant, Laura Fraser, Jennifer Saunders, Helen McRory, Karen Gillan and Robbie Coltrane amongst her clients.

Caitlin Fowler
Caitlin has been running Instagram makeup masterclasses with us, having originally trained at AR some years ago now. Caitlin spent some time raising her first daughter and honing her skills as a creative makeup artist. She has amassed a fabulous interactive following on Instagram and works mainly with private clients and photoshoots, along with teaching masterclasses.
