Yoga skin is the latest buzzword in the makeup world. You’d be forgiven for thinking it’s something you wear to Yoga classes, but it’s actually the latest makeup trend created by celebrity makeup artist, Sarah Hill. But what exactly is yoga skin, and how can you achieve it?
What is Yoga Skin?
Yoga skin is the latest trend to take the makeup world by storm. The makeup trend aims to create glowing, radiant skin that makes you look like you’ve just stepped out of a yoga studio. Similar to no-makeup makeup, yoga skin is all about creating a fresh, lit-from-within complexion that looks like you’re not wearing any makeup at all.
How to get Yoga Skin
If you’re not a fan of downward dog – don’t worry! You don’t have to step foot in a yoga studio to nail the yoga skin trend. All you need to do is follow the steps below to create a gorgeous, radiant complexion.
- Follow your normal skincare regime, including moisturiser and serums and leave to settle into the skin for around ten minutes.
- Apply a layer of your favourite primer to create the perfect blank canvas for your makeup. Our choice would be the Charlotte Tilbury Wonderglow Primer to give you a glowing base from the start.
- Now it’s time to move onto the fun part – creating your ‘skin mix’. Simply mix the following ingredients together:
60% Foundation
15% Facial Oil
10% Liquid Illuminator
5% Glow Drops
The great thing about creating the skin mix is that you can completely tailor it to your skin type. Those with oily skin may want to use less oil and more foundation, and those with dry skin may want to consider adding a touch of moisturiser to the mix.
4. Massage the mix into your skin using the tips of your fingers, making sure to really work it into your skin. You want to aim to create quite a sheer base, so spend some time really working it into the skin. Keep layering your mix until you’re happy with the coverage. Add a little bit of liquid concealer if you’ve got any blemishes to hide, but make sure you don’t add too much, as you want to maintain the natural effect.
If you want to achieve gorgeous, glowing skin even without makeup, then always make sure you’re drinking plenty of water each day, maintain a healthy diet and stick to a consistent skincare regime that’s tailored to your skin type.
Whether you’re popping to the shops, or you really are leaving a yoga class, this makeup technique will make sure you look healthy, refreshed and like you’ve just done an hour of stretching, breathing and tricky poses. We’ll just stick to the makeup.
